Congratulations to Tevin Reeves who was named to the 17U All Tournament Team at the Big Shots Clemson Tournament!
Here is what Big Shots had to Say after the Clemson Tournament:
Unsigned senior with a chip. 6'2 2011 CG Tevin Reeves (N. GA Heat Black 17U / Wheeler / Marietta, GA) was at it again filling it up from behind the arc and mixing it up inside converting and-ones and scoring over length with either hand. A low major prospect that would be a great late addition. Named to 17U All Tournament Team.
Here is what Big Shots had to Say after the Georgia Tournament:-Unsigned Senior Stroking. Tevin Reeves is making noise each weekend for North GA Heat. The 2011 6'2 Wheeler G lit it up for 31 pts. with 25 pts. in the first half and 8 fgs coming from beyond the arc in the 2nd round victory. Reeves could be one of four 2011 Wheeler guards to play at the next level (Cochran-Wofford, Simmons-UNCW, Longoria-Binghamton). To go along with his hot hand, Reeves also is sizzling in the classroom with a 4.2 GPA. Rating: 70
7th Grade Girls Win the YBOA Dawson Smith Memorial
Jam for the fourth year in a row!
The 7th Grade Girls played well this past weekend
placing 1st in the 7th Grade D1 YBOA Dawson Smith Memorial Jam.
Sunday they played three good teams to make for an exciting day.
They finished the day in the Championship against the Georgia Metros.
Both teams had already played two games that morning, so they had
to dig down deep.
They beat the Metros in the end taking the tournament. This is the fourth year the girls have won the Dawson Tournament and the second time they have met the Metros in a Championship. The last time they met the Metros it was five years ago where they beat the Metros for their first tournament win ever.
The girls just wanted to win the cookie on the floor in front of the team trophy. It was a sweet end to a good weekend.
The 10th Grade Girls played well this past weekend placing 2nd in the Easter Weekend Tournament. Good job girls!
Heat Achieve wins the Champion again Easter Weekend!! Way to go guys!
Congratulations to Chris Longoria of the 17u Boys Exposure Team.
Chris signed a D1 scholarship with Binghamton University to play basketball and get a great education.
Here is what Bigs Shots Tournament had to say about Chris after the March 19 - 20 tournment games.
Chris Longoria (6'4 PG 2011 / Wheeler HS / Atlanta, GA) and Earl Hill (6'6 SF 2011 / Alpharetta HS / Alpharetta, GA) are two prime examples of why we are big on letting unsigned seniors play as each of these available prospects showed their Division 1 caliber talents. Chris starred as role player on a extremely talented program in that of Wheeler. However, as the go-to-guy for North GA Heat in the Southern Shootout Longoria was able to showcase his repatoire of skills constantly applying pressure on the defense, making plays at the rim or shooting the pull off a dribble move. Longoria is an above average athlete with great size for a point. He will be taking an unofficial visit to Binghamton next week and would be a perfect fit in the Patriot League, MVC, MEAC, and the right system in CAA, Big South, or So-Con. Earl Hill continued to build on his All Region HS season with an impressive showing in the Southern Shootout scoring 15.7 ppg. and a game high of 30 pts. The versatile wing averaged a double double on his high school season and will receive more interest as he continues to transform his game from primarily a 4 to a natural 3-man. These unsigned seniors stock will continue to rise as 2011 scholarships open up late.
